Welcome

Windlehurst School caters for young people, aged 11 to 16 who have identified Social, Emotional or Mental Health issues.

Many of our young people will have had a long history of failing to reach their potential in mainstream schools. Pupils may have been excluded from school or found the experience stressful. Much of this stress will also have been experienced by families of the young people.

The aim of Windlehurst School is to re-engage these young people in their education, through well planned, engaging and appropriately differentiated lessons, designed to meet individual needs. They are taught in small groups with a high ratio of staff to pupils and in a supportive environment.

I hope you enjoy our website and, through it, gain a better understanding of what we do at Windlehurst and what we believe. We are very proud of our school and what our young people achieve. We are delighted to share it with you.

Momo online safety guide for parents
28/02/2019 12:00 AM

You may have heard about the Momo Challenge which targets children via What’s App and indirectly via social media and YouTube. Children are enticed to contact a user named Momo then they are instructed to perform a series of dangerous tasks which encourage self-harm and suicide. Messages are usually accompanied by frightening or gory pictures. If the tasks are not completed, graphic threats are then sent.

You can find out more about the Momo Challenge by using this link:

Information has also been added to the school website within the parents and carers tab
